4th Line Repair Method
Each vehicle will be dissembled in two main categories i.e. Driveline (main) components and body components.

The driveline components will be remanufactures which means that all the critical parts on each component will be replaced on a 100% basis irrespective of the existing status of the part. Driveline components consists of the engine, transmission, T-Case, front and rear axles, propshafts and steering box.

Body components fitted to the vehicle will be replaced by new components. Body components typically consists of suspension parts, pneumatic and electrical systems, seat modules with safety belts, water and fuel tanks, storage bin, etc.
Vehicle hulls will be inspected to repair cracks and/or upgraded to strengthen certain areas. Hardners tests will also be done to ensure the technical integrity of the hull.

Cummins Ratel Engine Upgrade (Download Brochure with specifications)
IVEMA has launched a remanufactured Ratel 6x6 infantry fighting vehicle fitted with a new Cummins diesel engine that has been specially adapted to fit into the Ratel’s engine compartment and integrate with the existing drive line.

By introducing a modern, high performance Cummins engine, the new Ratel engine upgrade programme offers superior power and performance capabilities and promises a much longer engine life and easier access to spares and components than any remanufacture programme can offer.

The Ratel engine upgrade offers all Ratel users a simple ‘plug-and-play’ option that will ensure a longer engine life cycle, engine warranty, easier maintenance and serviceability and support across the world. In addition, the pricing of this package is roughly equivalent to what it costs to recondition a standard Ratel engine.

The current engine of the Ratel is no longer in manufacture and therefore acquiring any replacement parts, spares and components is difficult and costly.
